Coach was founded in 1941 as a small leather workshop in Manhattan staffed by six artisans. The company transformed under the influence of designer Bonnie Cashin in the 1960s, who introduced functional yet refined handbags crafted from premium American leather, establishing the brand's identity as a purveyor of accessible luxury rooted in New York craftsmanship. The house launched its first fragrance in 2007, initially through an arrangement with Estee Lauder. In 2015, the fragrance license moved to InterParfums, and the following year brought Coach Eau de Parfum, a modern floriental-fruity creation by Anne Flipo and Juliette Karagueuzoglou that captured the spontaneous energy of New York. The fragrance line has since expanded with Coach for Men and several flankers, each reflecting the house's signature blend of urban sophistication and approachable warmth.
