Celine Barel

Celine Barel is a French perfumer born and raised in Grasse, the historic capital of the fragrance industry, though she had no family ties to the trade. She earned a Master's degree in Marketing and International Management before joining IFF in Milan. She was admitted to the IFF Perfumery School, training across Hilversum in the Netherlands, New York, and Grasse, and has spent over 17 years as a professional perfumer.

At IFF, Barel has built a diverse portfolio spanning luxury and mass-market fragrances. Her notable creations include work for Abercrombie & Fitch, Lancôme, Loewe, and Clean, as well as celebrity fragrances for David Beckham, Jessica Simpson, and Shawn Mendes. She has also collaborated with niche houses including Zoologist and Aesop.
