Loc Dong

Loc Dong is a Vietnamese-born perfumer who grew up surrounded by medicinal plants and herbs thanks to his herbalist grandfather. He left Vietnam alone at the age of eleven and settled in the United States, where he initially dreamed of becoming a doctor before a chance encounter with a perfumer changed the course of his career. He trained at Haarmann & Reimer and Creations Aromatiques across Grasse, New York, Paris, and Germany over a decade before joining IFF in 2002.

Dong spent 20 years at IFF, working between Paris and New York, before joining Symrise's Fine Fragrance division as a Master Perfumer. He is recognized as the industry's first Asian fine fragrance perfumer, with mentors including Dominique Ropion, Sophia Grojsman, and Carlos Benaim. His blockbuster creations include Euphoria by Calvin Klein and Acqua di Gioia by Giorgio Armani.
