Pierre Bourdon
Pierre Bourdon was born in Paris in 1946 and initially studied political science before a pivotal encounter in 1971 with the master perfumer Edmond Roudnitska changed the direction of his life. As Roudnitska's sole student, Bourdon underwent a rigorous five-year apprenticeship at Roure in Grasse. He then moved into the company's Paris team before spending time in the United States, and in 1982 co-founded Takasago Europe.
In 1993 he founded Fragrance Resources France, which he has led as CEO. His portfolio includes some of the most influential fragrances of the late twentieth century: Kouros for Yves Saint Laurent, Cool Water for Davidoff, Joop! Homme, and Iris Poudre for Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, the first fragrance created for that house.
