Max Gavarry
Max Gavarry is a French perfumer born and raised in Grasse, the historic capital of world perfumery. His roots in fragrance run deep: his grandfather cultivated and distilled lavender, and his father worked as a gardener in the region. Gavarry built his career at International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), where he has created scents for an impressive roster of luxury brands. His notable works include Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, Prada Amber, Estée Lauder Beautiful, and Halloween by Jesus Del Pozo, along with compositions for Carolina Herrera, Lalique, and Paloma Picasso. He is the father of perfumer Clément Gavarry, continuing a multi-generational family tradition in fragrance. Known for his affinity for tuberose and his philosophy that perfumery should touch hearts and evoke memories rather than chase trends, Gavarry has spent decades shaping some of the industry's most recognizable signatures.
