Emilie Coppermann discovered her passion for fragrance at the age of eight, spending weekends mixing perfume samples, and by her early teens a chance encounter with a professional perfumer had set her course. She studied organic chemistry and trained at ISIPCA in Versailles, where her talent caught the attention of senior perfumers at Symrise, including Jean-Louis Sieuzac and Dominique Ropion, who became her mentors. She rose to the title of master perfumer in 2016 after more than two decades crafting fine fragrances for leading fashion and beauty brands.

At the age of 27, Coppermann won her first major fragrance brief with L'Eau de Sonia Rykiel, launching a career that has produced work for Givenchy, Carolina Herrera, Burberry, Balmain, Paco Rabanne, Lalique, and Comme des Garçons. She received the Lalique Prize of the Talents du Luxe in 2011 in recognition of her contributions to French luxury perfumery.
